Quartz Perimorph After Calcite 10.5 Inch 3.7kg Natural Crystal Specimen - Morocco
A sharply defined, square cavity preserves the original geometry of a dissolved calcite crystal, now expressed as a quartz perimorph. The interior and underside are lined with fine druzy quartz, forming a crystalline pocket that catches light deep within the structure. Surrounding the cavity, layered iron-rich mineralization creates a dense, textured surface with concentric relief reminiscent of the patterns found in sand dunes, shifting between matte and subtly sparkling areas. The contrast between the geometric void and the organic outer growth gives the piece a distinctly architectural presence shaped by sequential mineral processes. This is an exceptional example of a classic find from this locale.
