Smoky Citrine Elestial Enhydro 12.9 Inch 19.4kg Natural Crystal - Brazil
Large old-stock natural smoky citrine crystal from Brazil with rich golden coloration, dramatic smoky zoning, and deeply layered elestial growth rising across one side of the formation. A broad transparent face beside the elestial growth frames a natural internal cavity containing trapped ancient water and a highly mobile air bubble with exceptional freedom of movement within the crystal. The body of the crystal is almost completely water clear, especially when lit from behind. Crystals with this unique combination of traits have become more difficult to find, especially with this combination of clarity, color saturation, pronounced skeletal growth, and preserved internal movement. “Enhydro” is the colloquial term commonly used for crystals containing visible trapped liquid and moving air bubbles inside natural cavities. Technically, most of these formations in quartz are fluid inclusions, sealed pockets formed during crystal growth that trap ancient liquid, gas, or mineral matter within the crystal lattice. While the terms are often used interchangeably in the mineral world, “enhydro” traditionally refers to water-bearing cavities within agates or chalcedony rather than the fluid inclusions typically found in quartz crystals.
