Tanzanite is the blue-purple variety of the mineral Zoisite. It's a relatively 'new' gemstone, having only been discovered in 1967. It is only found in Northern Tanzania, hence the name Tanzanite. This piece displays the characteristic brilliant vibrancy and depth of color that one expects from high-quality Tanzanite. And if that's not enough, the perfect natural crystal formation should push you over the edge. This is a great piece!
